Sycamore

Sycamore is common to much of the southeastern U.S. and is routinely planted as a shade tree. They’re prized for their unique, colorfully patterned bark, which provides visual interest at all times of the year. One of the largest hardwood trees in North America, they can reach heights of over 100 feet – so plant this tree with plenty of room around and above it! Sycamores grow well in moist soils, and their intertwining roots are effective for streambank stabilization and erosion reduction. Leaf color is yellow and bronze in the fall.
